DOMAIN STATION TELSTRA CABLE WORKS

In conjunction with John Holland, the Decon Network Integrity team have been contracted to assist with the Domain Station portion of the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project.  This is an early works project to relocate Telstra cables and other carrier subducting across Domain Road around the proposed Station Perimeter, as well as replacing the existing Telstra cables and other carrier subducting crossing St Kilda Road and from the North Side of St Kilda Road across to Bowen Crescent in the new Telstra conduit plus run to the respective end points via existing Telstra Conduits.

Qualified Decon Installers were utilised to install new Optical Fibre and Copper cabling, which was required to be broken down into smaller cable sheath sizes due to bend radius requirements in the manholes.

Decon utilised its Stakeholder Management experience to lodge all Land access notification. Traffic Management was the responsibility of Decon for this project, as well as the supply of all cable and Materials required for the portion of the project. Decon utilised its CBD office and warehouse to operate from during this project.

The Decon Network Integrity Team Worked around the clock, 24 hours a day until completion of this time critical project.

PARKVILLE STATION TELSTRA CABLE WORKS

In conjunction with John Holland, the Decon Network Integrity team have been contracted to assist with the Parkville Station cable relocation. The construction of the new CBD underground railway station at Parkville requires Telstra Cabling to be removed and relocated.  Validation of the Network away from the immediate work zone was hampered with water in the existing manholes; Decon had to work around this in order to progress further through the project.

Decon supplied and installed all materials, provided traffic management and also stored all materials in Decon's CBD Warehouse. This project required major outages at Melbourne University and the Hospital Precinct to be taken into consideration and was completed in under 5 months.
