We’re seeing strong momentum across the Pacific infrastructure sector, with regional project pipelines continuing to grow and new opportunities emerging for collaboration, delivery and long-term investment.
Decon team have just returned to Australia, after attending the Pacific Infrastructure Business Opportunities Seminar (PIBOS) in Fiji.
PIBOS brings together contractors, consultants, government bodies, development partners and industry stakeholders to explore infrastructure opportunities across the Pacific, with a focus on upcoming projects, procurement pathways, funding and regional collaboration.
Over several days, the team took part in presentations on regional project pipelines, marketplace sessions with government stakeholders and networking discussions around funding, procurement and partnership opportunities. These sessions provided valuable insight into how infrastructure priorities are evolving across the region.
Here’s what stood out:
▸A strong pipeline of infrastructure projects progressing toward procurement, backed by significant regional investment
▸Energy continuing to lead the way, alongside continued activity in transport, aviation and water infrastructure
▸An increasing focus on sustainability, resilience and long-term climate outcomes
▸Greater emphasis on early engagement, partnerships and alignment with evolving procurement frameworks
Beyond the formal sessions, the conversations on the ground were just as valuable, offering a clearer view of how projects are being shaped and delivered across different Pacific markets.
It was a valuable few days of learning, reconnecting with the region and gaining greater insight into where Decon’s capability can contribute to infrastructure opportunities on a broader global stage. We look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring what comes next.
